WEEK 3 - DEVELOPED LIGHT RAIL STOP

"Emphasis placed on strong geometric forms of the building, which in turn dramatically influences its relationship to light" - Louis Kahn
+
"Interrelationship between indoor and outdoor spaces" - Balkrishna Doshi

A smart architect would make sure there is an interrelationship between indoor and outdoor spaces. This is seen through the relationship in the strong light rail stop which is positioned face on, while the curvilinear form in contrast is positioned sideways, thus allowing us to turn in order to get the complete phenomenal idea.

The light rail stop shows very strong geometric forms. However, throughout these geometric forms, we can see the interrelationship they have with light, like through the sliced wall in the middle, thus conveying that strong geometric forms can allow a lot of light to pass through by using space wisely.

The fountain gives a playful addition to the boring wait for the train and the arch-like design for the benches allow a person to experience nature completely as it allows light through all directions, thus giving people that are waiting for the train something pleasant to experience.
