WEEK 4 - DEVELOPED SKETCHUP MODEL

Original sketch:
Unstable-Extraordinary

The 'unstable' building was constructed using white concrete walls, blue glass and timber. Timber has been used to give the building more complexity and detail through the addition of the timber balcony with the glass opening on the left. Also, timber was used to add some edginess in the middle of the building where there are some benches and a staircase which leads to the exhibition space. Some concrete blocks and glass blocks pop out of the building which gives it more texture and sharpness.  The stairs are also made of alternating concrete and glass blocks which continue the theme of the building. Furthermore, this highlights CJ Hendry's bold, edgy and sharp work through the refined and polished look of this building. CJ's super-realistic rendering of objects using a pen is further conveyed through the texture used on the faces of the building which add to her edginess.

The 'Extraordinary' building was constructed using white concrete and black glass. The building gives the illusion that there are many spheres joined together to make that shape. Furthermore, the building mainly consists of black glass which thus gives the workspace a lot of open space. The thin, white vertical concrete walls that go all around the building gives it a flawless finish which reflects the pristine of Gucci and how sophisticated and different they are from the ordinary. Also, the fact that this building is on a cliff further gives it that extra edge to show how unique Gucci is for their very phenomenal designs and products. Thus, the overall building reflects the elegance and beauty of the Gucci brand.

Far away view which shows both buildings, the terrain and the river.
